Bharatanatyam
Bharatanatyam is a dance of precision and devotion — clean lines, rhythmic footwork and expressive storytelling. At Natyaradana, it is taught from its foundations upward, so every learner builds the art correctly from the very first adavu.

What students learn
Learn Bharatanatyam with guidance rooted in tradition. Natyaradana School of Arts was founded by Dr. Sripriya Kapisthalam, whose teaching approach honours classical foundations while supporting each learner's progress.
Araimandi, adavus and body alignment built with patience and correctness.
Tala, nritta and footwork that develop timing and musical understanding.
Mudras, facial expression and bhava — the language of storytelling.
Traditional items introduced progressively, matched to the learner's stage.
The meaning, history and vocabulary behind what students perform.
Presence, poise and the discipline to perform with assurance.
For every learner
45-minute classes that make foundations joyful while instilling focus and discipline.
60-minute classes for adults beginning fresh or returning to the art after years away.
No prior experience needed — we start with posture, basic adavus and rhythm.
Refinement of technique, deeper abhinaya and advanced repertoire.
Live, interactive Bharatanatyam classes from anywhere — India, NRI families and international learners.
One-to-one Bharatanatyam sessions for focused attention, flexible timings or specific goals.
For students who aspire to it, Bharatanatyam training at Natyaradana can progress to performances, Salangai Pooja and structured Arangetram preparation. It is a pathway, not a requirement — learners joining for joy or culture are equally welcome.
